A-Ronne II

Adaptation scénique d’A-Ronne de Luciano Berio

A-Ronne II Music theatre

A-Ronne II

Stage adaptation of A-Ronne by Luciano Berio

A-Ronne is a piece for radio by Luciano Berio inspired by the style of the 16th century Italian madrigale rappresentativo, a theatre for the ears. A poem by Sanguineti, a collage of quotations in various languages ranging from Dante to the Gospel and from Marx to T. S. Eliot are set to music by the composer, projected into various musical situations. Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski chose to have actors in this piece generally performed by singers, showing the voice in all its states. Sitting on unusual seats, five characters straight out of Renaissance paintings amusingly and expressively sing, murmur, converse, chuckle, grumble and embody this score.

(L’Express, Clara Descamp, 9/3/00)

Höchste Virtuosität der Rezitation, verblüffendste Kunst der Vokalakrobatik.

(Frankfurter Allgemeine, Bernd Feuchtner, 20/03/00)

(L’Edition locale, Jacques Duruisseau, 12/11/96)

(Berliner Morgenpost, Martina Helmig, 16/03/00)

(Eti Informa, Valentina Boretti)
